*The Crypto Club* So Far...

TL;DR: Our Telegram can be a valuable tool for the Original Ones, but there are missing puzzle pieces. For starters: a more structural framework and specific guiding principles. And maybe we can add more conversation topics in the spirit of empowerment.

You won’t know until you try, and what we know so far is that the Telegram format is rather ‘stream of consciousness’ and, sometimes, like ‘drinking from the firehose’. We’ve also learned that only discussing cryptocurrencies and “real world” topics such as the vaccine agenda is (probably) not enough.

Besides, with these limited focal points we walk a tricky tightrope in attempting to balance ‘knowledge is power’ with ‘you empower what you focus on’. And possibly the exchange of this kind of information ought to be a subset of a more general principle of empowerment. And so we could expand our scope, and add new elements to find what else can bring value.

Scope

For example, we could include less paradoxical topics of empowerment, such as the Ashram questions we had been pondering before the pandemic hit. That is: exchanging ideas on land, locations, and taking an inventory of the skills that we have ‘in house’ to actualize such a vision. (To be clear, with “ashram” we’re referring to ‘a place of gathering for the Original Ones’ — and not so much, ‘living under one roof’.)

Skills

I’ve also been contemplating The Seer’s statement that “skills are the new currency” in our brave new world, and have wondered whether that’s something towards which we can leverage Telegram, to help strengthen the Original Ones community?

Live

Perhaps this special Original Ones club will fully come into its own when it acts more as a backbone to live online gatherings, initiatives and events, rather than as the main emphasis. Yes, in the chat we have more immediacy and ‘intimacy’ in communication. But there have already been a few exchanges in which the nuance gets lost in text, and where it might be more ideal to be able to communicate in voice. (This, of course, is the appeal of Clubhouse, and although I have tried to approach this in Zoom, it’s just not the same. Telegram also has a chat function, although we have yet to properly test it.)
